Covering a 37.1-hectare site, the Küçükçekmece Urban Design Project aims to transform the existing fabric into a more livable, accessible, and human-scaled urban environment. Defined streets, permeable pedestrian corridors, large courtyard blocks, and continuous ground-floor commercial uses establish an active and cohesive urban network. Block typologies are organized to maintain density while creating higher-quality open spaces, supported by generous landscaped courtyards, neighborhood parks, and a tall tree canopy that provides shade and comfort. With simple massing proportions, rhythmic façade openings, and articulated balcony recesses, the architectural language achieves a unified, contemporary character, while playgrounds, sports areas, and recreational pockets within the courtyards generate a calm and secure inner-neighborhood atmosphere. Overall, the project seeks to transform a dense urban fabric into a more permeable, greener, and sustainable living environment.
